RPCS3 announces one of best looking PS3 games can now be played without issues

The RPCS3 team has announced on X that grass rendering in Flower and Boku no Natsuyasumi 3 has been fixed, thanks to Yahfz. The developer fixed a bug that was causing problems drawing vertices. With the issue fixed, both Flower and Boku no Natsuyasumi 3 are now “Playable” on PCs with no known issues and good performance.
While Boku no Natsuyasumi 3 was a Japan-exclusive game and never made its way to the Western markets, Flower did see a global release in 2009. Flower was one of the best-looking Sony PlayStation 3 games when it launched. It featured beautiful landscapes, abundant particle effects, and a presentation that was a breath of fresh air in a generation plagued by dreary and drab-looking games.
The title is a cult classic, standing at an 87 on Metacritic. IGN, for instance, gave the game a 9 out of 10, calling it a “type of game that reaches out to us and whispers about the beauty of life”.
So, if you have access to a PS3 copy of Flower, the game definitely deserves a shot on RPCS3. It is super short and chill and can be finished in under 2 hours. You can also get the game for the Sony PS4 and Windows, as Flower launched on these platforms in 2014 and 2019, respectively.
If you are solely a PC gamer, you are in luck. At the time of writing, Steam is running a massive Steam Autumn Sale on a plethora of games, including Flower. The game is currently retailing at an 80% discount on Steam, falling to a record-low price of just $1.39. This is a no-brainer price to pay for a game that many see as a prime example of video games as art.
