RPCS3 announces another PS3 game enters "Playable" list, promises more games soon

Sony PlayStation 3 emulator RPCS3 now plays most PS3 games without any major issues. The RPCS3 team maintains a dedicated “Compatibility List” section on the official RPCS3 website. The section lists: 

• PS3 games that are fully “Playable”
• “Ingame” titles that the emulator can play but with major issues
• Games that can only boot to their “Intro” screens
• Games that are “Loadable” but display a black screen
• Games that do “Nothing”

Through years of effort, RPCS3 can now fully play more than 78% of the PS3 library with good performance, and the team has just added a new title to the “Playable” list. Gamers can now play Ubisoft’s MotionSports Adrenaline from start to finish with good performance and no game-breaking issues using RPCS3.

Furthermore, the RPCS3 team announced on X that The Shoot is now “Ingame”. This means that the arcade-style shooter encounters some serious issues while running in RPCS3. The Shoot reaching the “Ingame” list is itself a big deal since it is a PS Move game that requires a PS Move controller and a PS Eye camera. 

In fact, RPCS3’s “Intro” list is currently dominated by games that require a PS Move controller. Out of 32 total games that exist in the “Intro” list, 22 are PS Move games. The RPCS3 team is reportedly hard at work to get these games out of the “Intro” list, as the team announced that they “are working on more accuracy”.

So, if you have a PS Move controller, a PS Eye camera, and a copy of MotionSports Adrenaline, give the game a go and see what issues you face. You can report bugs and any potential issues to the RPCS3 team through the GitHub Issue Tracker or through the RPCS3 Forum.

Finally, RPCS3 requires a beefy CPU like the Core i5-14600K or a Ryzen 7 9800X3D to get the best performance. So, make sure you get one on Amazon if you don’t already have one.
