The open-source Sony PS3 emulator RPCS3 has announced a bunch of new games that are now fully playable on PCs. The games include fan favorites like LittlebigPlanet Karting and the Jak and Daxter Collection.

RPCS3 is slowly but surely moving towards 100% PS3 game compatibility. At the time of writing, the PS3 emulator can boot virtually all of the indexed PS3 game library. RPCS3 recently announced a bunch of new entries into the “Playable” list. As a result, RPCS3 can now reportedly play 77.91% of the indexed games from start to finish with good performance and no game-breaking issues.

Stuntman Ignition

RPCS3 announced on X that Stuntman Ignition, a PS2, PS3, and Xbox 360 game released all the way back in 2007, is finally fully fixed. The game crashes have been solved thanks to the efforts of Yahfz in optimizing sysutilModule and implementing shared memory handling.

With the latest update, RPCS3 claims that the PS3 emulator is now the best way to play Stuntman Iginition.

Jak and Daxter Collection

RPCS3 has also added the Jak and Daxter Collection to its ever-increasing “Playable” list. The development is a result of the work of RPCS3's Lead Graphics Developer, kd-11, who fixed refracting effects by “a massive RSX blending emulation rework supported by many hardware tests.”

For the uninitiated, the Jak and Daxter Collection contains remastered copies of the first three Jak and Daxter games. The collection was released for the Sony PlayStation 3 in 2012 and a year later for the PlayStation Vita (get a "Renewed" unit on Amazon).

LittleBigPlanet Karting

The RSX blending emulation rework that fixed graphical issues in the Jak and Daxter Collection has also fixed broken lighting in LittleBigPlanet Karting. As a result, RPCS3 has now categorized LittleBigPlanet Karting as fully “Playable” on PC.

We expect to see more titles become “Playable” on RPCS3 in the coming weeks. In the meantime, remember that if you have physical version of PS3 games on hand and a supported Blu-ray drive, you can directly play the games from the discs without any installation.
