GTA 6: Video shows how massive Vice City is compared to Los Santos in GTA 5

We recently reported on a fan-made map showing roughly how large Leonida could be and where its most important locations are situated. However, simply looking at the map makes it difficult to judge how large the game world actually is. What's missing is a point of comparison. Reddit user u/Haykguy apparently had the same thought and created a video that visually compares the scale of Vice City in GTA 6 with Los Santos in GTA 5. Importantly, the video only compares the two cities. The actual game world of GTA 6 (available to pre-order on Amazon) encompasses much more than Vice City alone and stretches across large parts of the fictional state of Leonida.
Rather than simply placing two maps side by side, the video overlays the outline of Los Santos directly onto the reconstructed GTA 6 game world. This makes it much easier to see how much space Vice City could occupy based on current estimates – and it's quite a lot. It's important to note that the comparison is not based on an official GTA 6 map, but on the Community Mapping Project. The actual proportions could therefore differ considerably.

Community is impressed but also spots inaccuracies
The community's response to the comparison video is largely positive. The top comment in the thread reads: “Animation looks fantastic, thank you” However, fans have also spotted some inaccuracies. User u/kheeno_ points out that larger areas of Los Santos are missing and that the two cities could actually be closer in size than the video suggests. These include areas such as Vinewood Hills and El Burro Heights. The creator acknowledges that he focused on the clearly recognizable urban areas when tracing the city, but argues that Vice City would still be considerably larger even with those additional areas included.
