KytyPS5: PS5-exclusive God of War game is reportedly playable on PC at 100+ FPS

Sony is no longer interested in bringing their first-party games to PC. However, if you are patient, you might be able to emulate your favorite PS5 exclusive games on a PC thanks to the rapidly improving KytyPS5 emulator. While we have already seen the emulator play PS5 exclusive games, we now have an exciting demonstration of the true potential of KytyPS5 in God of War: Sons of Sparta.

God of War: Sons of Sparta is the latest entry in the God of War series. It tells the tale of Kratos as a young Spartan in training. Sadly, the side-scrolling 2D adventure is exclusive to the Sony PS5.

That said, YouTuber PSXTech demonstrates that not only can KytyPS5 run God of War: Sons of Sparta on a PC, but the PS5 emulator can do so with great performance. The YouTuber shows a small slice of the game running at an average of 137 FPS, with 1% lows standing at a smooth 65 FPS. This is a massive development, as it implies that KytyPS5 can deliver exceptional performance in some lighter titles.

We must mention here that we only see a small sample of the gameplay of God of War: Sons of Sparta. So, it remains to be seen how KytyPS5 emulates the game from start to finish, if it can.

Finally, PSXTech employed a PC with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D to run KytyPS5. We have seen this with RPCS3, where emulation requires a beefy CPU to get good performance. Ryzen 7 9800X3D is one of the fastest gaming CPUs on the market. So, if you want to give KytyPS5 a try, make sure your CPU is powerful enough.

All in all, this is excellent news for the whole PS5 emulation scene. We are pretty excited to see where KytyPS5 goes next.
