Star Wars Jedi 3 could be announced sooner than you think

Developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by EA, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order came out in 2019, marking the start of a new Star Wars Jedi series of games. It was followed up by the 2023 sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Since then, there have been some rumors about a third instalment, and a new leak claims that the game will release next year, with marketing starting soon.

The information comes from FivesWalker, a fairly new leaker, who states that Star Wars Jedi 3 will arrive in 2027 with marketing starting “sooner than you think.” The leaker suspects it will be announced before The Game Awards scheduled for December 10. That’s about all the information shared in the X post.

Back in January, it was reported that Star Wars Jedi 3 could launch this year, but it looks like only a reveal is on the cards for 2026. A 2027 launch makes sense as May 25 next year would mark the 50th anniversary of the 1977 original Star Wars theatrical release. Whether the game launch coincides with the 50th anniversary date remains to be seen.

The Star Wars Jedi series tells the story of Cal Kestis, a Jedi Padawan who is attempting to complete his training but is being hunted by the Imperial Inquisitors. It is set five years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Cal, played and voiced by Cameron Monaghan, is expected to return for the third instalment. Both previous games were well received, with Fallen Order sitting at a 79 Metacritic score and Survivor sitting at 85.
