RPCS3 PS3 emulator achieves major milestone: PS3-exclusive sci-fi action game is now bug free
The whole emulation scene is currently moving at a pretty insane pace. From native PC ports of PlayStation 5 games to the development of the PS5 emulators like KytyPS5, we see something new every other day. RPCS3 has also managed to make some major gains over the past months. The RPCS3 team has now announced a major graphical fix in Armored Core: Verdict Day.
Announcing the development on X, the team explained that developer Yahfz “fixed the flickering blue squares that appeared during movement” in Armored Core: Verdict Day. With the issue now resolved, there are no known issues listed for Armored Core: Verdict Day in RPCS3’s database.
However, Armored Core: Verdict Day, a mech action game from FromSoftware, is still in the “Ingame” list. In the absence of any known issues, this usually means that a game has performance issues that are preventing it from being put in the “Playable” list. We suspect this might also be the case with Armored Core: Verdict Day.
On the flip side, the developers now only have to work on improving the performance of the game until it can be played well on a system with RPCS3’s recommended specs. RPCS3’s recommended specs target performance matching or exceeding that of a PS3. These specs currently include a Ryzen 5 5600 or an Intel Core i5-10400 CPU, an AMD RX 5600 XT or an Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU, and 16 GB of RAM.
If you have a more powerful system, especially a more powerful CPU than the Ryze 5 5600, you might be able to run Armored Core: Verdict Day with good performance already. So, do give the game a try.
