GTA 6 pre-order leak hints at 60 fps performance mode on PS5 and Xbox consoles

Rockstar Games has not shared details about performance options for the GTA 6 PS5 and Xbox versions. However, the Polish subsidiary of MediaMarkt may have revealed some clues. The visible pre-order description on the retailer’s site mentions two graphics modes.
Placeholder or leak?
The translated text explains that “next-generation consoles offer two graphics modes to choose from (Performance and Quality).” It’s possibly a placeholder ahead of the start of GTA 6 pre-orders on June 25th. Still, many titles allow players to either prioritize frame rates or image quality.
The MediaMarkt leak didn’t clarify whether performance mode would include 60 fps visuals. It also didn’t stipulate what benefits the quality alternative would have at a likely 30 fps. Leading up to the November 19th GTA 6 release date, fans have worried that Rockstar Games’ open-world might overtax the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

The two already-public trailers show a Leonida crowded with unique NPCs. Varied environments feature authentic-looking beaches, wetlands, and city streets. That level of detail could strain the processing power of the current Sony and Microsoft consoles.
How likely is 60 fps?
Digital Foundry has analyzed the available videos and screenshots. Unfortunately, the site believes that a 60 fps performance mode is unrealistic, even on the PS5 Pro. It notes that the trailers render at 30 fps and employ a heavy dose of ray-traced global illumination. Any cutbacks may degrade the presentation to below Rockstar's high standards.
One potential compromise is a preset with 40 fps graphics at a higher refresh rate. Still, gamers will have to wait for official confirmation before deciding whether it may be worth holding out for a PC port.
The remainder of the leaked text describes some common perks, such as support for DualSense controller haptics and faster SSD load times. MediaMarkt also suggests that GTA 6 PS5 and Xbox pre-orders will be sold in three different versions. While it doesn’t list prices, buyers could expect to choose between Standard, Special, and Collector’s Editions.
