GTA 6 can be ordered for free on Xbox, and a lucky gamer has done it already

GTA 6 pre-orders have kicked off, and it looks like console players prefer the PS5 version, as indicated by the disparity in pre-orders. But the Xbox Store may just have a redeeming quality that actually allows players to get the game at a discount, if not for free.
A lucky user seems to have pre-ordered GTA 6 on Xbox for free. They achieved this through the Microsoft Rewards program. Apparently, the user had been stacking up reward points for several years and made it to where they could use $100 worth of points (100,000 points) to buy the Ultimate Edition of the game. The screenshot shared by the user shows a pre-order receipt dated June 25 with payment made through Microsoft account balance.

Another user shared a screenshot of their journey to 100,000 points, which would add up to $100. They still have a long way to go, but as proved already, it is possible. With 100,000 points, shoppers can get a $100 gift card, which can then be used to purchase GTA 6.
Microsoft allows users to earn reward points with daily Bing searches, using Edge as a browser, or making qualifying purchases of games, add-ons, movies, TV shows, and more on Microsoft.com. It is definitely a grind, and stacking up 100,000 points is going to take a long time. Even if not 100,000, those who have sufficient points to purchase a $25 gift card could save 25% on the game’s Ultimate Edition.
Notably, PlayStation also has a rewards program, but it doesn’t work the same way, and there aren’t as many free opportunities to earn points. Moreover, Sony discontinued its rewards program last year, with no new applications being accepted. Those who have points stacked up have till November of this year to redeem them.
