Here's everything GTA 6’s $100 Ultimate Edition locks behind a paywall

Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive’s Grand Theft Auto VI Standard Edition will cost $79.99 but won’t include the full game. GTA VI’s Ultimate Edition, priced at $99.99, will include the entire game, as certain parts of the long-awaited GTA title are paywalled behind the Ultimate Edition. This means that GTA fans will have to shell out the full $100 to experience the definitive single-player experience.
Pre-orders for the game are now live as of June 25, 2026, for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The physical edition will only contain a download code and no disc, and pre-loads will begin on November 12.
What’s really drawing the most attention is what the extra $20 Ultimate Edition actually offers in-game. Rather than offering cosmetic add-ons and digital bonus items, the Ultimate Edition paywalls and locks certain stores and vehicle modification shops.
To be specific, GTA VI’s Ultimate Edition will exclusively offer five dedicated single-player stores and mod shops, which will not be available in the $79.99 Standard Edition. Furthermore, there’s no official word on whether these stores will be available in GTA Online, either when it launches later down the line or on November 19.
The digital customization options will be offered only in five dedicated shops in Leonida, rather than in regular stores scattered across the map. These five exclusive Ultimate Edition shops include Rideout Customs, where you can “transform vanilla vehicles into magnificent works of art with detailed interiors, exquisite rims, and donk stylings.” It is “only open for business in the Ultimate Edition.”
Additionally, One-Eyed Willie’s in Lake Leonida will go beyond mere cosmetic vehicle overhauls and offer off-road upgrades and modifications, along with some custom vinyls. It is also “only open for business with the Ultimate Edition.”
Moving on to purely cosmetic paywalled stores, Sara’s Unisex Salon will give Lucia and Jason signature makeovers and offer signature hairstyles for both protagonists, including facial hair options for Jason and makeup and nails for Lucia.
Meanwhile, Stock 305 will become the go-to destination for Ultimate Edition players to dress Jason and Lucia in unique streetwear and exclusive outfits. Last but not least, Electric Fang Tattoo will offer “over 50 signature tattoos for both Jason and Lucia– all designed by the artist collective FAILE,” and again, it’s “only open for business with the Ultimate Edition.”
Furthermore, Ultimate Edition buyers will also get their hands on a roster of exclusive vehicles, including the ’95 Grotti Cheeta, a heavily modified Shitzu Squalo watercraft, an army-styled Dinka Enduro, and the Crest Kayak; the ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy; custom weapon options such as the His and Hers versions of the Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers; custom engravings for Jason’s Girardi ES9 and Lucia’s Klose K17 pistol; special outfits and styles; a gang compound side quest known as PTT Youngin$ Illegal Goods Store, which will reward Ultimate Edition players with high-tier loot; and a “Classic Car Collection” quest, which will allow players to explore Leonida to discover and restomod abandoned project car finds similar to Forza Horizon 6.
Players who want to experience the entirety of Rockstar Games' GTA VI will certainly pay the additional $20 for the Ultimate Edition. Rockstar Games might add a $20 upgrade path for Standard Edition players down the line when the game releases on November 19, 2026, but one isn't available just yet for users who have already preordered the Standard Edition.
