If the GTA 6 map is as vast as expected, community resources will save hours of aimless wandering. There is already an interactive tool available that approximates the position of landmarks. The updated resource has benefited from new screenshots that accompanied the start of pre-orders.

The opening of GTA 6 pre-orders coincided with the release of new screenshots and some retail leaks. Fans working on map.stateofleonida.net examine every small nugget of data to add points of interest. The latest update of the interactive map offers the best look yet at the next open world experience.

Insider Gaming noted how user Yanis uploaded the 13th version of the GTA 6 map on June 24th. In development since March 2025, limited information from Rockstar and trailers provided the first clues.

How accurate is the community project?

The developer has named regions of the state of Leonida, including Vice City, the Keys, Grassrivers, and Mount Kalaga National Park. Yanis and other gamers study available images and videos, using triangulation to estimate the positions of landmarks. Players can hover over 1600 interactive markers for roads, bridges, beaches, businesses, and more.

Each new round of GTA 6 screenshots and the anticipated trailer #3 should improve the accuracy of the fan-made creation. Still, there is a high degree of error, and the guesswork may continue until the game’s release date.

With past Grand Theft Auto titles, Rockstar shipped a paper map inside physical copies. However, given that Xbox and PS5 pre-orders for the 6th entry won’t include discs, that perk may be sacrificed. If lacking an official resource, map.stateofleonida.net and other wikis will prove invaluable.

A diverse Grand Theft Auto world

A pre-order leak from a Brazilian retailer describes the GTA 6 map as the “largest and densest open world ever created by Rockstar.” That matches what the studio has shared about the game. The environments are also more varied, combining urban areas with smaller towns, swamps, and forests. While in-game navigation aids will help, exploring without guidance could be tedious.

To pass the time before the November 19th release date, the community tool offers a guessing game. Players score points for correctly geolocating landmarks spotted in screenshots and trailers.
