For the first time ever, Transport Fever costs just $3 on Steam. For that, management-sim fans get a deep transport tycoon experience with trains, ships, aircraft, supply chains and 150 years of transport history.

Transport Fever is a great pick for anyone who loves the sight of a perfectly synchronized rail network. Starting in 1850, players build their own transport company and guide it through 150 years of technological progress. Released in 2016, the game is currently available on Steam with a 90% discount for the first time, according to SteamDB, reducing the regular price from around $30 to just $3. It is also rated “Playable” on the Steam Deck, making it a solid option for handheld gaming.

At its core, Transport Fever is about building the most efficient transport network possible. Players connect cities with bus routes, tram lines, railways, shipping routes and air links, transporting both passengers and freight while ensuring that industries receive a steady supply of raw materials.

Transport Fever combines relaxed building with surprisingly demanding economic management. Every new route needs careful planning, as gradients, curve radii, timetables and operating costs determine whether a line turns a profit or becomes a financial drain. Alongside two historical campaigns set in Europe and North America, the game also features an open-ended free-play mode.

In its review, German gaming magazine PC Games awarded Transport Fever 8 out of 10 points, praising its wide variety of transport options, complex supply chains, dynamically growing cities and engaging campaign. Criticism focused mainly on the fiddly track-building tools and landscapes that can sometimes feel a little empty. On Steam, the transport management sim has more than 10,000 user reviews, 82% of them positive. On Metacritic, it holds a Metascore of 71 and a User Score of 7.7. Players who enjoy the original can move straight on to the sequel, Transport Fever 2, which is currently available on Steam for around $8.
