The PS5 Pro sold out at various retailers shortly after the GTA 6 Extended Look was released, while third-party sellers that still had it in stock started selling it at absurd prices. However, the console is finally back in stock at PlayStation Direct and is available at its original price.

Rockstar Games recently gave fans a closer look at GTA 6 through its Extended Look, and the reveal caused a major increase in interest around the game. That excitement also appears to have affected console sales, with the PS5 Pro selling out at several retailers shortly after the footage was released.

The shortage also pushed prices much higher on third-party marketplaces. Some sellers were asking more than $1,200 for the console, with certain eBay listings going as high as $1,500. And if you were hoping to get a PS5 Pro but didn't want to pay those inflated prices, there's some good news. The PS5 Pro 2TB is currently back in stock through the official PlayStation Direct store, where it is available for its regular $899.99 price.

This is a much better option than paying the inflated prices seen elsewhere. The console has previously been listed for more than $1,000 at different retailers, and there are still multiple listings online asking close to $1,200. However, the current stock may not last long, so anyone looking to buy one should probably act before the current supply disappears again.

It's also worth keeping expectations in check when it comes to GTA 6's performance, as the game is not expected to run at 60 FPS on PS5 Pro. Rockstar is reportedly targeting around 30 FPS on the standard PS5, and the PS5 Pro is also expected to target the same frame rate. The main advantage should be improved visual quality rather than a higher frame rate.
