Philips launches smartphone with 64MP camera and 5G connectivity

Philips has introduced the S7221 5G in India. The smartphone is positioned in the budget segment. It features a 6.67-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The smartphone is powered by the Unisoc T8200 chipset. For context, it is a 6nm octa-core chipset featuring two Cortex-A76 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. Graphics are handled by a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The chipset is also used in the HMD Vibe 2 5G, which launched in India in May 2026.
The Philips S7221 5G features a 64MP main camera and a 16MP front-facing camera. The phone packs a 5,700mAh battery and charges through USB-C. Out of the box, the smartphone runs Android 16. Other features include dual-SIM 5G connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IP64 rating, and dual stereo speakers.

The Philips S7221 5G is now available to purchase in India. On Amazon, it is currently listed with two memory configurations: 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB. They are priced at INR 20,499 (~$217) and INR 22,499 (~$238), respectively.
