Anker launches safer 20,000mAh power bank with 55W fast charging and special iPhone compatibility

Anker has finally launched its first power bank certified under China's 2026 national safety standard for portable chargers. The standard requires stricter testing to reduce battery-related fire and explosion risks, making compliant power banks safer than older models. That said, the new Anker 20K Zolo Power Bank brings two other upgrades over the current Zolo model (curr. $49.99 on Amazon).

First is faster charging. The new model retains the same 20,000mAh capacity, two built-in USB-C cables, and additional USB-C and USB-A ports, but bumps up the maximum output from 45W to 55W. With that, Anker says it can charge an iPhone 17 (Notebookcheck review) to 70% and a Xiaomi 17 Pro (Notebookcheck review) to 69% in 30 minutes. Like the previous model, users can also charge up to four devices at once.

Second, the new power bank gets a few useful software features. It can identify the connected iPhone model and optimize fast charging accordingly. Speaking of which, it supports PD3.0, PPS, SCP, and UFCS charging protocols. Users can also check charging and battery health information through Anker's app. Moreover, quick updates appear in the Dynamic Island on supported iPhones when the power bank is connected.

The power bank itself measures 121 x 74.3 x 32.8 mm and comes in black, white, blue, and pink colorways.

Pricing and availability

The new Anker 20K Zolo Power Bank is now available to preorder in China for 299 yuan (~$45). Anker has not revealed when the new power bank will launch globally.
