Anker releases new compact charger with AVS support

Anker has announced a new charging accessory in China: the SafeCharge Pro+. This compact charging plug is referred to as model A120M. It is marketed for use with Apple products, including the upcoming iPhone 18 series smartphones.
The Anker SafeCharge Pro+ Charger offers a single USB-C port, with support for the Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS) protocol, for dynamic fast charging between 45W and 65W. According to the brand, it could be used to charge an iPhone 17 to 50% in 20 minutes at the lower power output. Anker also notes that the gadget is compatible with Xiaomi’s 55W fast charging protocol.
Other features of the new Anker SafeCharge Pro+ include upgraded active temperature control technology, ActiveShield 4.0. Plus, the charger has been certified by TÜV Rheinland for low-temperature fast charging, which is achieved in part with GaN 2.0 technology. The small gadget measures 34.0 x 36.5 x 43.2 mm (~1.34 x 1.44 x 1.70 inches) and weighs 80 g (~2.82 oz). Another feature is folding pins, which can be set in one of two positions when charging, or folded away to make the device easier to transport. The product listing shows four colors - black, white, burgundy and light blue - which appear to be Anker’s bet on the shades of the unreleased iPhone 18 Pro.
Anker is selling the SafeCharge Pro+ Charger at Chinese retailers like Youzan for CNY 109 (~$16). It is unclear when this new product will be released in other markets like the US, where Anker currently sells older models like the Anker 715 Charger (Nano II 65W) (curr. $29.99 at Amazon).
