Razer’s new gaming controller folds down to the size of a credit card
Razer has unveiled the Prio, a new foldable gaming controller designed for iPhone and Android smartphones. The compact gamepad features a full console-style control layout, folds down to roughly the size of a credit card and weighs just 101 g, making it easy to carry almost anywhere.
When folded, the Razer Prio measures 107 × 67 × 23 mm. Its folding mechanism twists open in a single motion to create a full-sized controller that can hold smartphones with screens up to 7 inches, including large models such as the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Despite its small size, Razer has fitted the Prio with a conventional console-style control layout, including analog sticks, a four-way D-pad, face buttons, bumpers and triggers. The analog sticks use capacitive sensing rather than physical contacts. Razer says this design should reduce wear and the risk of stick drift.
Unlike many mobile controllers, the Prio does not require pairing or a separate battery. It draws power directly from the smartphone through USB-C, which also provides a low-latency connection. Razer says the Prio can work with most slim and medium phone cases without requiring users to remove them.
The Prio supports iPhones running iOS 18 and Android smartphones running Android 14 or later. It can be used for local gaming as well as cloud and remote play through Xbox Cloud Gaming, Steam Link, PS Remote Play and Razer PC Remote Play. A dedicated Razer Cortex Mobile button provides one-tap access to the user's game library.
Razer is positioning the Prio as a controller for gaming on the go, whether during a commute, while waiting somewhere or between classes. Its folding design is intended to solve one of the biggest problems with traditional mobile gamepads: they're considerably less convenient to carry around than a smartphone.
The Razer Prio is the first model in the company's new line of ultra-portable mobile gaming controllers. Razer has not provided pricing or availability details.
