Razer has announced the release of an iPhone-compatible version of its second-gen Kishi mobile gaming accessory. The controller-like grip features new programmable buttons and support for PC/console game-streaming. The Kishi V2 has also launched alongside a new companion Nexus app with shortcuts to ~1,000 titles.

Apple has now confirmed the survival of the Lightning port for yet another year - thus prompting Razer to announce that it can help the Cupertino giant's fans get over any resulting disappointment with a Kishi V2 for their new iPhone 14-series devices.

Like its USB type-C-equipped V2 for Android sibling, the new flexible adapter clips onto either side of a range of iPhones to confer an ergonomically-designed grip while using its physical interface. It comprises the same array of controls (joysticks, analog triggers and XYAB buttons included) as its predecessor, yet also upgrades to an additional multi-function, re-mappable button in this generation.

There is also a dedicated Nexus button, which points to a new Razer app made for the Kishi V2 to unlock automatic updates and customization options. Its UI also contains optional shortcuts to "over a thousand" games, many well-known titles such as Alien Isolation included.

Razer also asserts that the "ultra-low latency" Kishi V2 improves on its forebear with a new "stable" bridge that allows it to stretch and fit better around a greater range of devices (probably most important for its Android version), not to mention the micro-switches for its controls - the D-pad included - that replace the membrane keys of the first generation.

The Kishi V2 is available from now on, and also on Amazon, with the same US$99.99 price-tag as its Android counterpart.
