Xiaomi is increasingly well-known as an OEM of gaming monitors and laptops; however, it also makes its own-brand series of GamePad controllers. Its latest addition is to be an Elite Edition with new, potentially upgraded specs and hardware features.
They include A/B/X/Y keys rated to withstand "at least 1,000,000" clicks in their lifetime, as well as handles with their own Minebea linear motors (for the kind of feedback typically associated with Steam gameplay) as well as triggers.
The Xiaomi GamePad Elite Edition is also now linked to "somatosensory" (or generally non-visual) feedback thanks to its new InvenSense 6-axis gyroscope. The controller also features a prominent ALPS main joystick, and is wireless thanks to its Bluetooth 5.0/single-band 2.4GHz Wi-Fi receiver and Nordic chipset.
It is honestly not clear from its new page on the Xiaomi Youpin crowdfunding platform whether the GamePad Elite Edition can be used with consoles or not, although it will apparently come with a custom-designed clip for use with a smartphone. It will go live for 329 yuan (~US$50) from tomorrow (April 27, 2022) via its intial sales model.
