CES 2022 | HyperX Clutch Wireless Gaming Controller announced with 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support
HyperX has announced the Clutch Wireless Gaming Controller, a controller centred around mobile gaming. As the company's marketing images show, the Clutch Wireless Gaming Controller has a familiar controller layout for anyone who has played or owns an Xbox. Accordingly, the layout is similar to a PlayStation controller, too. Supposedly, the controller's textured grips will 'enhance in-game performance'; most areas have a satin finish, though.
The Clutch Wireless Gaming Controller supports Android devices via Bluetooth 4.2 or a 2.4 GHz wireless receiver. Alternatively, you could game with the controller on a PC using the supplied USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable. Seemingly, PC compatibility extends to 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth connections, too. Either way, the controller should last up to 19 hours between charges on its 600 mAh battery.
According to HyperX, the Clutch Wireless Gaming Controller weighs 270 g without a cable and measures 110.3 x 75.1 x 155.6 mm. Incidentally, HyperX bundles a detachable and adjustable mobile phone clip that can expand from 41 mm to 86 mm for wider smartphones.
HyperX will begin selling the Clutch Wireless Gaming Controller in March. The controller will be available for US$49.99; pricing remains unknown for other regions, as does availability.
