CES 2022 | HP Omen 27u 4K gaming monitor caters to both console and PC gamers with 144 Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, 1 ms MPRT, and 95% DCI-P3 coverage
HP is adding a new monitor to its gaming lineup at CES 2022, the HP Omen 27u. The launch of the HP Omen 27u follows that of the Omen 27c and the Omen 25i introduced last year. The Omen 27u is a 4K gaming monitor that is designed to cater to both console and PC gamers alike.
The HP Omen 27u is compatible with the PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch consoles. It supports 4K console gaming at 120 Hz and is certified for VESA DisplayHDR 400 support. The Omen 27u supports variable refresh rate (VRR) with the Xbox Series X out-of-the-box. Support for VRR on the PS5 will be made available pending an update from Sony. The Omen 27u also features integrated speakers, so gamers can quickly hop into their game without having to worry about setting up audio equipment separately.
HP said that the Omen 27u features an IPS Oxide Panel that is factory-calibrated to cover 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The calibration also ensures that the Delta E in color accuracy is less than 2 for accurate color reproduction. The panel offers 450 nits of typical brightness.
On the PC side, gamers can experience refresh rates up to 144 Hz if connected via DisplayPort 1.4. The Omen 27u supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for tear-free visuals and promises a 1 ms response time in overdrive mode and a 1 ms moving picture response time (MPRT).
HP Eye Ease certified with Eyesafe ensures that the Omen 27u is able to reduce blue light emissions without drastic differences in color accuracy. Gamers can customize the ARGB lighting on the back via Omen Light Studio software.
The HP Omen 27u will be available this Spring via hp.com and other stores starting from US$699.99
