CES 2022 | HP Omen 25L is now available with Intel Alder Lake processors, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 series graphics cards, and similarly-specced AMD components
The HP Omen 25L gaming desktop was last refreshed in 2020 with Intel Comet Lake/ AMD Ryzen Matisse processors and Nvidia Turing/AMD Navi graphics cards. The new HP Omen 25L, alongside the flagship-tier Omen 45 gaming desktop, gets a fresh coat of paint with current-generation hardware.
One can configure the HP Omen 25L with 12th-generation Intel Alder Lake or AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors. HP hasn't specified the exact CPU model, but we're probably looking at an Intel Core i7-12700K (and lower) on the Intel side. For the AMD models, we get the Ryzen 5000 series of processors, probably maxing out at the Ryzen 7 5800X.
Given its position as an affordable pre-built gaming desktop, graphics card choices on the HP Omen 25L top out at an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT. HP hasn't specified the memory/storage configurations for the Omen 25L. However, users can easily upgrade both components via the M.2 NVMe SSD and four DDR4 DIMM slots. The latter will likely vary according to the choice of CPU. The desktop uses a stand micro ATX motherboard, which offers four USB Type-A ports, two USB Type-C ports, an RJ35 Ethernet jack and three audio inputs. At the front, we get two USB Type-A ports and a 3.5mm headphone/mic jack.
Lastly, the HP Omen 25L comes with one 120mm fan at the front and a single-fan AIO liquid cooler for the CPU. It isn't nearly as decked-up as the Omen 45L, but users can use the included Omen Gaming Hub to control the RGB lighting on the case. A tempered glass side panel, unfortunately, is optional. HP will reveal the Omen 25L's price and availability information later.
