Asus has upgraded a host of its gaming laptops with AMD's newest laptop processors at CES 2022. The ROG Zephyrus G14 gets the same treatment with AMD processors, graphics cards and a better screen. It also brings forth some interesting QoL improvements, such as more mini LED lights/holes on the Anime Matrix panel at the back.
The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is an all-AMD laptop with up to an AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX and an AMD Radeon RX 6800S (105W TGP), which features a dedicated MUX switch to allow for a seamless transition between the dGPU and iGPU. It features an unspecified amount of DDR5 memory clocked at 4,800MT/s, but we're probably looking at at least 32GB on the maxed-out model. Asus claims that the new vapour chamber cooling mechanism covers over 48% of the motherboard.
Asus has upgraded the screen on the ROG Zephyrus G14 with a 14-inch QHD screen (16:10 aspect ratio) with a refresh rate of 120Hz, 3ms response time, 500 nits peak brightness and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. A 17Wh battery powers the laptop, which can be charged via a USB Type-C port. Connectivity options include tow USB Type-C ports, two USB Type-A ports, one 3.5mm combo audio jack and a HDMI port. Asus says that the ROG Zephyrus 14 GA402 will be available for purchase Q1 2022, starting at EUR 1,899 (US$2,150).
