Microsoft Xbox Series X Halo-themed console and Elite Series 2 controller inbound November 15 ^↺

Microsoft has released several specially themed Xbox consoles over the years and it has now released the first for its next-generation Xbox Series X console. The new model is officially being sold as part of what Microsoft is calling the Xbox Series X Halo Infinite Limited Edition Bundle. For US$549, gamers will get a Halo-themed console, controller as well as a digital download code for the Halo Infinite game.

Microsoft is not having any difficulty shifting Xbox Series X consoles, which remain hard to get. While some might see slow sales as being part of the motivation for releasing a special edition console relatively early in its product cycle, it has much more to do with the fact that the Halo franchise is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The special edition console looks handsome with its dark metallic panelling that features shiny gold contrasts, and a star pattern (as seen from the surface of Zeta Halo) that extends on to a blue (not green) vent at the top of the console said to be inspired by Cortana.

While the special Halo Infinite bundle will be hard to get, Microsoft has also released a new Halo Infinite Limited Edition Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. It picks up the distinctive worn green armor plated look of Master Chief. Although it doesn’t pick up any new tricks, the Elite Series 2 controller is already one of the best on the market with customizability that makes it the pick of gamers seeking an edge. It will also go on sale November 15 for US$250.
