In February, Philips listed the Momentum 559M1RYV, a 55-inch VA monitor that succeeded the Momentum 558M1RY. However, the company did not reveal the price of its latest high-end monitor. It may have taken Philips four months to do so, but the Momentum 559M1RYV is now also the first 'Designed for Xbox' gaming monitor.
All specifications remain the same, meaning that the Momentum 559M1RYV actually outdoes the maximum refresh rate that the Xbox Series X supports. Specifically, the 55-inch monitor offers a 4K native resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate, a 1,200 nit peak brightness and three HDMI 2.1 ports. Moreover, the Momentum 559M1RYV has a DisplayPort 1.4 connection, four USB 3.2 Type-A ports and a USB Type-C port that can recharge devices at up to 65 W.
Microsoft has not specified what conditions a monitor must meet to obtain a 'Designed for Xbox' certification. Nonetheless, the Momentum 559M1RYV supports an Xbox Game Mode, although details about this also remain unknown. The Philips Momentum 559M1RYV will be available on Amazon this summer for US$1,599.99/€1,419.
