Philips has expanded its Momentum gaming monitor range with the new 27-inch entrant called the 275M8RZ. The company's latest monitor uses the same display as the one found in the Momentum 275M1RZ, but the 275M8RZ has a different stand and connectivity, among other changes.
The 275M8RZ is only available with a 27-inch panel that has a 16:9 aspect ratio. The IPS panel operates natively at 2,560 x 1,440 pixels with a 109 PPI pixel density and a peak 165 Hz refresh rate. Philips claims that the monitor has a 1,000:1 contrast ratio too, and is DisplayHDR 400 certified. Moreover, the monitor supposedly has 4 ms response times (grey to grey) and is NVIDIA G-Sync compatible. Accordingly, the 275M8RZ supports Philip's Adaptive Sync, too.
The 275M8RZ has a 10-bit panel and apparently covers 95% of DCI-P3. Additionally, Philips claims 110% AdobeRGB and 130% sRGB coverages. The monitor also has one DisplayPort 1.2 connection and two HDMI 2.0 ports. It is worth considering that only the DisplayPort can reach 165 Hz; the HDMI 2.0 connections are limited to 144 Hz.
To date, Philips has launched the 275M8RZ in Asia and Australia. The company is yet to confirm if it plans to release the monitor in Europe, North America and other regions, though.
