DJI Air 2S: Mavic Air 2 successor leaks multiple times ahead of its expected April 15 launch
Typically, new DJI products arrive after many detailed leaks, and the upcoming Air 2S is no different. In the last few days, not only has TechnikNews leaked marketing renders of DJI's next drone, but the device has also been seen at Best Buy. Additionally, Jasper Ellens has published what appears to be an Air 2S launch video. Now, a YouTuber named Offroad Drone has published the Air 2S' first hands-on video.
Based on the leaks so far, it seems that DJI has equipped the Air 2S with a 1-inch camera sensor that outputs at 20 MP. This sensor also supports 10-bit colour, 'Intelligent HDR', and can be used for camera modes like hyper-lapse and panorama.
The new camera adds 30 g to the Air 2S compared to the Mavic Air 2 though, bringing the former's weight to about 595 g. The new drone should support ActiveTrack 4.0, OcuSync 3.0 and FPV Goggles V2, too. Incidentally, the Air 2S has a revised remote, although its face looks similar to the Mavic Air 2's.
The Air 2S contains many other features as well, which Offroad Drone discusses below. Some of these include 'Spotlight 2.0' and 'Point of Interest 3.0', among others. The DJI Air 2S will cost US$1,299 for its 'Fly More Combo' and is expected to launch on April 15.
