Philips has unveiled the 288E2UAE, an MMD monitor that Philips is selling under its name. The 288E2UAE is a 28-inch monitor, as its name suggests, and one that operates natively at 3,840 x 2,160 pixels (4K UHD). According to Philips, 288E2UAE supports an ultra-wide colour gamut, by which it means that it covers 106.9% of NTSC and 119.7% of sRGB. Additionally, the monitor boasts a contrast ratio of 1,000:1.
The 288E2UAE supports picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes, thanks to Philips MultiView, which allows you to display two video sources simultaneously. Philips has included DisplayPort and HDMI ports to achieve this.
Additionally, the monitor has a 4-port USB 3.2 hub for connecting peripherals like a keyboard and mouse. Philips states that one of these USB ports is upstream, while all are downstream ports. Moreover, one USB port supports quick charging and complies with the USB-IF BC1.2 charging standard. Separately, Philips has included two 3 W speakers, a 100 x 100 mm VESA mount and a stand that can be titled -5/20 degrees or adjusted in height by up to 100 mm.
Philips will begin selling the 288E2UAE in the UK, Europe, and Switzerland from February. The monitor will be available for £269, €329 and CHF 329, respectively.
