Microsoft has announced the date of its next hardware event, currently referred to as a Microsoft Event. However, the teaser image above implies that Microsoft will be discussing Surface hardware, rather than anything else.
The official event website does not offer any indications about what products Microsoft plans to unveil, beyond the outline of a 2-in-1 device, so a Surface Pro or a Surface Go. Regardless, it confirms that the event will commence on September 22 at 11:00 ET (UTC-04:00).
As it stands, Microsoft is expected to announce at least two new products. One is the Surface Duo 2, a device that has leaked extensively so far. As we have covered previously, the Surface Duo 2 will offer rear-facing cameras, a current-generation flagship SoC and a high refresh rate display, all elements that the Surface Duo lacks.
Additionally, a new Surface Book should also be in attendance and potentially with a new design. According to Windows Central, the Surface Book 4 may not have a detachable display, as has been the case with the Surface Book series since the original model in 2015. A new Surface Pro tablet is expected as well, although details about this device remain scarce.
