The Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro smartphones have been included on an unofficial list of devices that support the company’s dynamic RAM expansion (DRE) technology. The amount of virtual RAM that can be added depends on the phone, with the upper limit hitting an extra 7 GB. The update for the Realme 8 has already started rolling out.

A Realme dynamic RAM expansion device list has been making the rounds on social media again, and it features no less than 33 smartphones at the time of writing. The Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro are new additions to the list, although it’s currently only the former phone that is officially being updated. However, it seems more than likely that the Realme 8 Pro will soon follow suit, which has seemingly been confirmed by a representative for the company but without a specific timeframe mentioned at the moment.

The purported list of supported smartphones that can (or will) utilize this virtual RAM feature in Realme UI is as follows:

  • Realme X50 Pro, Realme X50, Realme X50m
  • Realme X7 Pro, Realme X7 Max, Realme X7
  • Realme X2 Pro, Realme X2
  • Realme XT
  • Realme X3, Realme X3 SuperZoom
  • Realme 8 Pro, Realme 8 4G, Realme 8 5G
  • Realme 7 Pro, Realme 7, Realme 7i
  • Realme 6 Pro, Realme 6, Realme 6i
  • Realme Narzo 30 Pro, Realme Narzo 20 Pro, Realme Narzo 30
  • Realme Q3 Pro, Realme Q3
  • Realme Q2 Pro, Realme Q2
  • Realme V3, Realme V5, Realme V15
  • Realme GT, Realme GT Neo, Realme GT Flash Edition

It’s reasonable to believe that the upcoming Realme 8i will also be able to take advantage of dynamic RAM expansion, bringing the total to 34 supported smartphones. The Realme 8 was the latest officially announced device, with Realme boss Madhav Sheth recently publicizing the software update for the affordable phone. According to a post on the Realme community boards, the UI version RMX3085_11.A.19 will add the RAM expansion feature to the Realme 8 along with fixing some bugs and providing the July Android security patch (changelog below).
