The Realme Pad has appeared in motion in a promo video, although only the rear side of the upcoming Android tablet was on show. Apparent conflicting information about the display has given strength to speculation that multiple variants, such as a Realme Pad Pro, could be part of the lineup. The Realme Pad could hit a sweet spot for many tablet shoppers.

The Realme Pad is to be launched in India on September 9 and those looking for a new Android tablet that is priced at an affordable point should hope that Realme soon takes the Realme Pad global. The forthcoming slate has been teased in a new promo video, and while it looked quite generic in previous glimpses and leaked renders, it actually comes across as surprisingly flashy in the teaser. Only the rear side of the Realme Pad is on display in the clip, but it is dressed in the gold colorway that was leaked in August.

Along with the promo clip, Realme has shared a carefully skewed look at the front while revealing that the tablet has a 10.4-inch WUXGA+ “immersive display”. In addition, the event site for the Realme Pad details a 2000x1280 resolution and an 82.5% screen-to-body ratio. Back in mid-August, Realme executive Francis Wong recommended that a fan should wait for the Realme tablet if they wanted a bigger AMOLED for their device, obviously hinting that the soon-to-be-released Realme Pad would come with an AMOLED panel. While WUXGA+ resolution is theoretically available on AMOLED, it seems more likely there will be multiple SKUs, with a possible Realme Pad Pro getting the good stuff.

A success story for the Realme Pad is practically guaranteed as long as the price is right. With Xiaomi aiming for the upper mid-range market with its Mi Pad 5, the widening gap at the more affordable end of things has become even easier for Realme to fill. Rumors of price tags around ₹20,000 to ₹22,999 have been shared, which is the equivalent of about US$274 to US$315. For a brand-new 10.4-inch Android tablet with an 8-core processor (Helio G80), decent display, and stylus support, those prices should attract tablet shoppers en masse, especially if there is more than one Realme Pad model to choose from.
