Realme confirms release date for the ultra slim and "disruptive" Realme Pad tablet
While Xiaomi has seemingly targeted Apple and Samsung as rivals at the premium end of the tablet market, Realme appears to be aiming to satisfy tablet users who would rather have something that is still aesthetically appealing but also not a massive hit on the bank balance. The 10.4-inch Realme Pad is the expected solution, and it will make its first official launch appearance at 12.30 p.m. (India time) on September 9, a release date that had previously been leaked.
Quite a few details about the forthcoming Realme Pad have already been shared, and if they are accurate then a reasonable picture of the tablet can be painted. It’s expected to sport an AMOLED panel, a mainstream MediaTek Helio G80 processor, probably 4 GB RAM, possibly 64 GB storage, and an 8 MP camera sensor on both the front and rear. Renders of the Realme Pad have also turned up, as have a couple of live shots, and while it seems to be a somewhat generic-looking Android tablet, there is its “ultra slim” build going for it.
According to a recent tweet from Realme, the Realme Pad has a “6.9 mm ultra-slim design”; for the sake of comparison, the 11-inch M1 Apple iPad Pro is 5.9 mm in depth while the 12.9-inch variant reaches 6.4 mm. In addition to clearly being a likely good fit for the hand, the Realme Pad has also been described as both “light” and “disruptive”. Madhav Sheth has claimed “something disruptive is coming”, and as the rumored specs of the Realme Pad are not sufficient enough to disrupt the market then it’s likely going to be the price tag that will shake things up.
