Much information about the Realme Book Slim had already leaked over the past few weeks, but today's launch officially marks Realme's venture into the laptop segment. The Realme Book Slim at first glance seems to be heavily inspired by the MacBook with the company saying that it has been able to achieve a more slimmer and lighter profile than the MacBook Air.
The Realme Book Slim is available in two variants — powered by a Core i3-1115G4 and a Core i5-1135G7, respectively. Both variants offer 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM as standard with the memory of the Core i3 version clocking at 3,733 MHz and that of the Core i5 version at 4,266 MHz. The rest of the specifications are mostly common for both the Realme Book Slim SKUs.
The Realme Book Slim measures about 15.5 at its thickest side and tips the scales at 1.38 kg. The company said that the Slim will be available in two color variants — Real Blue and Real Grey — with an all-metallic design made by a CNC cutting, sandblasting, and anodizing process.
The Realme Book Slim features a 14-inch 3.2 2,160 x 1,440 panel with a 90% screen-to-body ratio that is rated for a 400-nit peak brightness and a 100% sRGB color gamut. Realme offers two storage options — a 256 GB SanDisk SSD or a 512 GB Samsung SSD.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 6 with Bluetooth 5.2 for the Core i5 model and Wi-Fi 5 with Bluetooth 5.1 for the entry-level Core i3 variant. The Core i5 version also features a Thunderbolt 4 port in addition to USB 3 Type-A and Type-C ports while the Core i3 makes do with two USB 3 Type-C ports in lieu of a Thunderbolt 4 port. The power button houses a fingerprint sensor.
A 54 Whr battery powers the innards, which the company claims can offer up to 11 hours of 1080p video playback and 8.5 hours endurance per charge for office work. The laptop also supports 65 W Super-Fast Charge technology for topping up the battery to up to 50% in 30 minutes. It is also compatible with the Realme 30 W Dart Charge that allows simultaneous charging of several USB Type-C port devices.
Realme said that users of Realme smartphones can use the Realme Book Slim to access all smartphone functions including notifications, clipboard, and file sharing via the PC Connect app. Currently PC Connect only works with Realme GT series phones, but the company said that support for other Realme smartphones is in the pipeline.
The Realme Book Slim will be available on realme.com, Flipkart, and offline stores from August 30 12 PM IST. Pricing starts from ₹46,999 (US$633) for the Core i3 version and ₹59,999 (US$808) for the Core i5 version. The company is also offering discounted introductory prices at ₹44,999 (US$606) and ₹56,999 (US$768), respectively.
