Netgear has released the Nighthawk M6 and M6 Pro mobile routers, which are now available in the US via AT&T. The company claims that the M6 Pro is the world’s first mobile router to support the Wi-Fi 6E standard.
You can create a mobile or fixed wireless hotspot with the gadgets by accessing AT&T’s 5G or 4G LTE networks. Netgear suggests that the devices have been designed for hybrid and remote working lifestyles.
The Nighthawk M6 Pro has 5G mmWave-Sub-6 dual connectivity, with the ability to switch between Wi-Fi 6 and 6E capabilities; the device can support speeds up to 8 Gbps. Plus, the router has a 2.5G Ethernet port, and provides eight times the speed and capacity of 4G. This means that the gadget can provide 8K streaming and low latency gaming.
The Nighthawk M6 is similar to the Pro device, though it lacks Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, meaning it has only four times the speed and bandwidth of 4G. The maximum supported speed is also lower at 4.4 Gbps and it has a 1.5G Ethernet port.
Both routers have a touchscreen and can support up to 32 devices. Each gadget has a removable 5,040 mAh battery that can provide up to 9 hours of life. The products measure 4.15 x 4.15 x 0.84-in (~10.54 x 10.54 x 2.14 cm). AT&T customers can now purchase the standard Netgear Nighthawk M6 for US$309.99 and the Pro for US$459.99
