RedMagic has just released its latest mobile gaming controller to regions such as North America. The Shadow Blade Gamepad 2.0 is rated to fit "all types" of smartphones, its maker's new 9 Pro flagship included, and stands out in its market with interchangeable shells for the tops of its arms.

RedMagic touts its new Shadow Blade Gamepad 2.0 as the best way to turn a smartphone such as the iPhone 15 Pro Max as well as the OEM's 9 Pro or maybe a new Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra into something that at least looks more like a Legion Go with a mobile OS.

Accordingly, it is backed to deliver an "even more comfortable console gaming-like experience" with an up-to-date grip style for the left and right arms that can snap into place on either side of a device in landscape mode.

Either side has 1 "durable" joystick apiece, equipped with Hall sensors rated to eliminate drift, judder, dead zones and missed clicks, with other inputs such as cross and XYAB button groups where you might expect to find them.

To the rear, the second-gen Shadow Blade also boasts triggers with both "Hall linear" (mechanical) and "fast" (as in touch-responsive) modes, the better to hit the ideal level of shooting feedback and experience. There are also programmable rear-facing buttons for potentially enhanced customizability.

The Gamepad 2.0 has an adjustable-angle USB-C port for "zero-latency" gaming, and has also hit the global market compatible with "never before seen" interchangeable magnetic shells for the controller arms' upper surfaces to switch between plain black and transparent looks - however, it is honestly not clear whether they come in the box or not.

Those interested in finding out can now order the Shadow Blade Gamepad 2.0 directly from RedMagic for prices such as €94.90 in Europe or $94.90 in either the US or Canada - arguably a lot, but less than either the OEM's original mobile controller or the Razer Kishi V2 on Amazon right now.
