Hyperkin DuchesS: Updated Duke Xbox controller shown with hall effect joysticks and triggers
Hyperkin is preparing to launch its version of the Controller S, the first Xbox controller that Microsoft sold in Japan. To recap, while 'The Duke' shipped with original Xbox systems, it only did so in North America and PAL regions before the Controller S usurped it globally by end of 2003. As a result, Hyperkin has called its reimagined controller the 'DuchesS' as a counterpoint to the re-made Duke it already sells.
So far, Hyperkin has shown the DuchesS in black and white finishes, each with an original Xbox logo emblazoned in the middle. Additionally, Hyperkin has stuck with the Controller S' original button layout, although an Xbox Share button now sits between the DuchesS' d-pad and right analogue stick. Likewise, the DuchesS is a wired affair, with no wireless options available from Hyperkin directly. However, the controller should ship with a detachable cable, which should make it more versatile than the Controller S' original fixed cable.
Moreover, Hyperkin states that the DuchesS will feature hall effect joysticks and triggers. Thus, the DuchesS could prove more durable and accurate over time. Unfortunately, Hyperkin has not confirmed pricing or availability yet, a fact that also applies to the Mega 95 gaming handheld that it unveiled recently.
