Xiaomi Redmi G34WQ reveals itself as new affordable curved gaming monitor with 180 Hz refresh rate
Xiaomi has launched a new gaming monitor, a few months after releasing the Curved Gaming Monitor 30" globally. This time, the company has presented the Redmi G34WQ in China, which it sells through its Youpin Ecommerce platform. As its name suggests, the Redmi G34WQ itself is based around a 34-inch panel with a 1500R curvature.
According to Xiaomi's Youpin listing, the monitor has a 3,440 x 1,440-pixel resolution, which corresponds with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Moreover, the IPS panel delivers a 180 Hz refresh rate with 1 ms MPRT response times and AMD FreeSync Premium support to mitigate image tearing. On top of that, the Redmi G34WQ is rated for 350 nits typical peak brightness, covers 95% of the DCI-P3 colour space and is ΔE<2 factory colour calibrated.
Furthermore, Xiaomi has included rear-facing RGB lighting, as well as two DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 ports apiece. The Redmi G34WQ retails for CNY 1,499 (~$210) in China, a price that underlines its mid-range hardware. As such, it is unclear whether Xiaomi intends to offer the gaming monitor globally. However, the Curved Gaming Monitor 30" shows that Xiaomi does offer some gaming monitors outside its home market, although without the Redmi branding with which the Curved Gaming Monitor 30" was originally available in China.
