Deal | Seven star systems full of loot: Sci-Fi action RPG now under $10 on Steam

In Everspace 2, players take on the role of clone pilot Adam and fight their way through the war-torn, demilitarized Cluster 34. On their journey across seven star systems, they encounter more than 100 handcrafted locations. These range from asteroid fields and space stations to planetary surfaces and alien ruins. The focus is on fast-paced space combat and, above all, plenty of loot. New weapons, modules and spaceships allow players to create increasingly powerful builds – a concept that certainly brings genre classics such as Diablo to mind.

The concept has been largely well received by players. On Steam, 85% of more than 13,000 reviews are positive. Everspace 2 also received solid reviews from critics: On Metacritic, the action RPG from German studio Rockfish Games holds a Metascore of 81, while the User Score stands at 7.6.

In its review, German gaming magazine PC Games particularly praised the rewarding loot and leveling system, varied locations and wealth of content. The different ship classes and technical execution also earned praise. Criticism was mainly directed at the clichéd story, the rather forgettable soundtrack and the comparatively simple combat system, which leans heavily toward arcade-style action. In the end, the publication awarded the game a solid 8 out of 10.

On Steam, Everspace 2 is 80% off until September 15, bringing the price down from $49.99 to $9.99. According to SteamDB, this matches the game's previous all-time low, last reached in late July. Space battles can also be enjoyed on the go: Everspace 2 is Steam Deck Verified on the Steam Deck and should therefore run without any major issues.
