The game focuses on your group's health and morale, as well as your wagon, which you'll need to take care of. Along the way, you’ll also encounter various animals while keeping an eye out for illnesses and injuries such as dysentery and broken bones. 

Seven quests inspired by historical events are available, allowing you to learn more about this era and the various figures who shaped it. Several activities are also available, such as hunting and fishing.

As an adaptation of the original game with improved graphics and gameplay, The Oregon Trail has received 79% positive reviews based on more than 1,280 reviews. As a result, players appreciate the choices available to them, which make each adventure unique. The improved graphics are also one of its strengths. But while it may seem peaceful, it’s a challenging game, and some players complain about balance issues. In addition, some features are also considered unnecessary.
