Deal | Resident Evil Requiem gets its highest-ever discount on the PlayStation Store and Steam
Sony has now refreshed its PlayStation Store sales. While thousands of titles on the storefront get a range of discounts, perhaps the most interesting this time out is Capcom's latest survival-horror action game, Resident Evil Requiem.
Released back in February, Resident Evil Requiem is widely considered to be one of the best video game releases this year. It launched to an incredibly positive reception, with an 89 Metascore and 9.3 user score—the latter making it the fifth-highest user-rated game ever on Metacritic. While it launched at $69.99, Requiem has now received a 30% discount on both Steam and the PlayStation Store, taking its price down to an all-time low of $48.99.
Resident Evil Requiem combines gameplay elements and styles from darker, horror-centric titles in the series like Resident Evil: Biohazard and more action-focused entries like Resident Evil 4 (2023). It's split into alternating segments starring its two protagonists—fan-favorite, all-action guy Leon Kennedy, and the more grounded Grace Ashcroft—with the game effectively switching genres across both characters. There's also the option of playing in first or third-person perspective with either character.
While Resident Evil Requiem is generally considered an excellent game, some users have complained about the quality of the story overall, as well as later segments not being as enjoyable as the earlier ones. Requiem is also a rather short game and can be completed in under 15 hours.
On Steam, this discount ends on September 21, and the game's Deluxe Edition also gets a 30% price slash that sees it priced at $55.99. On the PlayStation Store, this discount is valid until September 24.
