Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem patch 1.3.1 eases the “Leon must die forever” endgame mode by reducing early-tier enemy aggression, health, damage, and encounter pressure across all platforms. The update also strengthens key combat skills, including Explosives Specialist, Throwing+, and Strategist, to broaden viable builds and help players progress through the game’s hardest challenges.

Capcom released patch 1.3.1 for the Resident Evil Requiem, delivering immediate balance updates to the tough "Leon must die forever" endgame mode. The downloadable update is now live across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. This fresh deployment targets the heavy frustration players faced during the opening hours of the bonus mode while fixing minor software bugs hidden in the main game client.

Early survival ranks receive sweeping balance adjustments

The biggest changes in patch 1.3.1 focus on making the early stages of the survival challenge much less punishing for regular players. Player data collected by the studio showed that most fans were getting stuck almost immediately, prompting the developers to tweak enemy behavior in the first two challenge tiers. Under the new rules, the Rank 1 challenge lowers enemy aggression and health pools to give players a smoother introduction to the map layouts. For the Rank 2 tier, threat numbers and enemy damage are reduced, allowing fans to build up their basic item supplies without dying instantly to sudden ambushes.

Character skills gain massive combat boosts to expand builds

To give players a better chance at surviving these intense encounters in Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom also upgraded three core character skills used during these tough runs. These balance adjustments alter how items are saved in your inventory and how damage is calculated when fighting off hordes of monsters.

The Explosives Specialist skill received a massive boost, heavily increasing the odds of keeping a grenade after throwing it. Instead of vanishing after a single throw, explosive items stick around in the inventory more often. For the Throwing+ perk, the raw damage for all thrown items is now much higher. This change increases the power of hand grenades, making them ideal weapons for clearing out crowded rooms. Finally, the Strategist perk sees its active timer extended, meaning the special combat buff lasts longer during fights. At the same time, the skill provides a higher overall attack power boost to help players deal massive damage during that extended combat window.

This balance update downloads automatically the next time you launch the title on your console or PC. The adjustments should help more fans progress through the toughest endgame challenges without losing their hard-earned gear.
