Klei Entertainment and Playdigious confirm the official July 21, 2026, mobile release date for multiplayer survival hit Don't Starve Together.

Klei Entertainment is finally bringing Don't Starve Together to mobile phones later this month. Partnering with mobile porting studio Playdigious, the survival game is set to launch on both iOS and Android on July 21, 2026.

While the original single-player version has been on smartphones for years, this marks the first time players can dive into the full multiplayer experience on a portable screen. Right now, pre-registrations are live on the App Store and Google Play for $8.99, which includes a 10 percent discount before the price shifts to its standard $9.99 retail tag at launch. The standalone release follows a lengthy development period after the project was dropped from its original publisher, Netflix Games, early last year.

Custom touch controls and cross-platform cosmetic sharing

Moving a complex survival game from PC down to touchscreens meant a lot of user interface changes had to happen behind the scenes. Playdigious completely redesigned the interface to fit smaller mobile screens so you do not have to struggle with tiny inventory menus or awkward hotbars. The game features responsive touch controls along with native Bluetooth controller support if you prefer playing with a physical gamepad.

Cloud saving is also ready from day one, allowing you to sync your progress between multiple devices. Best of all, Klei confirmed that the mobile port includes account-level skin sharing, which means veteran players can instantly use any cosmetic items they already unlocked on the PC or console versions.

The full multiplayer survival loop comes to your pocket

This mobile release keeps the exact uncompromised survival gameplay that fans love. You will drop straight into the spooky world of the Constant to collect resources, build bases, manage your character's sanity, and fight off terrifying seasonal monsters. Multiplayer features will be completely active on launch day. You can easily set up private local servers for your friends or hunt for teammates using public online matchmaking.

An unofficial fan-made version leaked onto web forums earlier this week, proving just how eager the community is for a portable multiplayer edition. However, the official Playdigious build is the only version backed by dedicated server support and future content updates.
