Monster Hunter Wilds Switch 2 port may run at 1440p, with DLSS boosting game's performance

Datamining revealed a Monster Hunter Wilds Switch 2 version before Capcom confirmed its existence in June. Although the publisher hasn’t addressed performance on the console, more information has leaked. The latest finding indicates that in docked mode, graphics could render at up to 1440p resolution.
The newly discovered code lists the available settings for the Switch 2 game. Players with flat panels can expect a dynamic resolution ranging from 1080p to 1440p. Meanwhile, as a portable console, the visuals drop to between 720p and 864p. Whether 60 fps is possible with a dock is unclear, but the new datamine hints at 30-40 fps when mobile.
Even at a lesser frame rate, those options may alleviate fears about lackluster performance. Despite numerous Monster Hunter Wilds updates, some PS5, Xbox, and PC users still report stutters and blurry visuals. As a CPU-heavy title, there are concerns that its wide-open environments would overtax the Nintendo console.
Will DLSS be enough?
Earlier leaks suggested that Capcom would rely heavily on DLSS upscaling. The company has effectively employed the technology in Switch 2 games like Pragmata. Developers can start at a lower native resolution and then upscale to the desired performance target. That said, image quality will suffer if the native resolution is too low.
Nintendo fans could also enjoy some platform-specific perks. Local wireless multiplayer was referenced by previous code. Unique to Monster Hunter Rise on the Switch, the feature was particularly popular among Japanese players. Capcom’s domestic market has yet to embrace Wilds like other entries in the series.
The publisher hasn’t narrowed down a Monster Hunter Wilds Switch 2 release date. Given that the first datamines emerged late in 2025, a holiday 2026 debut may be realistic. However, the major Ascendance expansion isn’t due until 2027. Shipping a version for the handheld at the same time could further boost sales.
