Capcom has stated that Resident Evil Requiem is not expected to encounter the technical problems that affected Monster Hunter Wilds at launch. The clarification came during Capcom’s financial results Q&A for the first half of FY2026, where the company addressed concerns raised by players following Wilds’ rocky debut.
According to Capcom, “Resident Evil Requiem differs from Monster Hunter Wilds in terms of gameplay, system architecture, and network features. At present, we do not anticipate similar risks. We are developing the game to provide a smooth gaming experience across a wide range of PC specifications,” Capcom stated.
Capcom also attributed several issues experienced in Monster Hunter Wilds to the game’s scale and technical demands. The company previously acknowledged that the game launched with problems such as inconsistent frame pacing, shader compilation stutter, high CPU load on mid-range hardware and intermittent online connectivity errors. Capcom said it continues to release system updates and other improvements for the title, and it reiterated during the Q&A that community feedback remains a priority.
Capcom added that Requiem has received strong early reception at game shows, and said it aims to exceed the initial sales performance of Resident Evil Village. The company said the announcement of Requiem has already boosted interest in the wider franchise, noting that catalog sales for older Resident Evil titles have “performed strongly” in the first half of the fiscal year.
Outside the Resident Evil series, Capcom reported stable catalog growth for the Monster Hunter franchise, especially Monster Hunter Rise, and said that the mobile title Monster Hunter Outlanders, developed by TiMi Studio Group under licence, is expected to expand brand recognition internationally. Capcom concluded by stating that Resident Evil Requiem remains on track and that development efforts are focused on ensuring platform consistency and stability across a broad spectrum of PC hardware.
In other news, Capcom has also confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds will receive its next major patch on December 16, 2025. The Free Title Update 4 will introduce the Festival of Accord seasonal event, expanded end-game content, various improvements and weapon balancing adjustments.
