Collections of older games haven’t appeased fans waiting for a new Mega Man title. Capcom may finally endorse Mega Man 12, as it looks to bring the franchise to new audiences. With the publisher seeking more revenue, Devil May Cry and Ace Attorney are other Capcom games likely to return.

As one of the most popular Capcom franchises, frustrated followers wonder why the last mainline Mega Man game debuted in 2018. While various compilations have surfaced, they haven’t fully satisfied fans of action platformers. In the new 2025 Capcom Integrated Report, COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto gives gamers hope that Mega Man 12 will become a reality.

Rockman Corner explains that the publisher previously seemed to downplay the chances of a new entry. According to Tsujimoto, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter will continue as vital parts of its portfolio. However, it will also look for ways to reintroduce Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney.

The COO reveals that “new releases, remakes, and ports” for the trio of Capcom games are on the way. With Mega Man and other recognizable titles, the publisher’s strategy is to grow these into “core IPs” by shipping versions on new hardware. Of course, the end goal is to raise operating profits with more high-profile launches each year.

What will be the next Mega Man game?

Unfortunately, the report isn’t clear about what specific games are incoming. With Mega Man 11 now seven years old, a conventional sequel is a common request. The publisher could also choose to remake the first three titles, which date back to the NES era.

Dante loyalists have also been pining for news on a potential sixth game. Like with Mega Man 11, Devil May Cry 5 arrived in 2018. The game’s director, Hideaki Itsuno, was devoting most of his efforts toward Dragon’s Dogma 2. Although he has now left Capcom, the company hasn’t abandoned the prospect of a Devil May Cry 6.

Boasting over 13 million copies of Ace Attorney games sold, the series of visual novels looks more likely to receive a new chapter. The last mainline addition to the courtroom-themed IP was the 2016 Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney − Spirit of Justice.
