For many survival horror addicts, the wait for a new Dino Crisis game is agonizing. Despite Capcom showing interest in reviving the franchise, any related project remains a mystery. The latest teaser for a potential Dino Crisis remake comes in the form of new merchandise.
As discovered by Twisted Voxel, the publisher announced a new assortment of Dino Crisis gear in Japanese. A lottery will take place from August 8th to September 12th, with a minimum entry fee of 880 yen, or approximately $6. Gamers can also increase their chances by buying more draws at a discount.
Every participant is guaranteed to receive a prize. With only a one in a hundred chance, the luckiest fans may win a sweater. Items like dinosaur stickers may be less coveted, but also carry much higher odds. Desk mats, figurines, keychains, and even medkit-style pouches are also part of the contest.
As Final Fantasy loyalists know all too well, the arrival of merchandise often doesn't guarantee a new game. Still, a redesigned Zidane figure recently prompted hope that the anticipated Final Fantasy 9 remake might become a reality.
Gamers have had other reasons to believe that a Dino Crisis remake is inevitable. Capcom conducted research in 2024, confirming the appeal of the survival horror franchise. The first Dino Crisis finished only behind Devil May Cry 5 among the most popular Capcom games. Also, the company renewed a trademark related to the IP earlier in 2025, even if it doesn't necessarily signal a new title.
On the other hand, Dino Crisis and Resident Evil Mastermind Shinji Mikami previously poured cold water on the idea. During a discussion with Eurogamer, he argued that Monster Hunter had enough dinosaurs to satisfy Dino Crisis players. However, with sales of Monster Hunter Wilds falling off, the publisher might be more inclined to explore a remake.
