When inZOI launched in March 2025, it was touted as an alternative to The Sims, and for a while, it was Steam's top new release, raking in as many as 87,377 concurrent players at its peak in late March. Four months later, though, the daily concurrent player count for inZOI barely exceeds 1,100 players. Krafton and inZOI Studio are looking to revive the game with its newly announced free DLC, Island Getaway.
inZOI Island Getaway free DLC details
inZOI: Island Getaway is slated to launch on Steam on August 20, and it will be free for those who already own the game. It introduces players to Cahaya, a destination comprised of the main island and a resort island. On the main island, players will be able to farm, fish, mine and process minerals, and trade their wares. The resort island, on the other hand, is all about relaxation and recreational activities. You'll be able to go for a massage, take a dip in the pool, go snorkelling and attend pool parties, cruise along the beach on a motorcycle, and visit the cat temple and pet its feline inhabitants. There will also be special weekly events on the resort, like Turtlebot races and treasure hunts, which will reward players with Resort Coins that can be used on special rewards.
A third island lies between the resort and the main island: A “mysterious desert island” waiting to be explored. Not much has been shared about the desert island thus far, but so far the community response to what is known appears to be positive, with many Redditors on r/inZOI saying that the new activities and locations might be enough to get them to reinstall the game. There is a dedicated Island Getaway DLC site previewing what's to come from the free DLC when it lands.
As with the main game, the minimum hardware requirements call for an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB and an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, although the game is reportedly playable on the Steam Deck, so some tweaking should get it running on devices like the Lenovo Legion Go S (curr. $649.99 on Amazon).
