The producer of Resident Evil Requiem claims that the leaks about Leon are fake news

Resident Evil Requiem is a game eagerly awaited by fans of this horror franchise. And while its release date is set for February 27, 2026, numerous rumors have been circulating in recent weeks about Leon's presence in this title.

It must be said that Leon S. Kennedy is certainly one of the most popular characters in this franchise. And it seems logical that fans want to embody him in Resident Evil Requiem. But recently, Masato Kumazawa spoke during an interview with Stevivor, and he asked fans to be careful: 

"Apart from any official information that Capcom has released, the rest is more detective work. So I would suggest to please not take everything at face value.”

He also spoke about the use of AI and the proliferation of fake images on the internet, especially regarding Leon: 

"There has been a photo lately of Leon with an eye patch, and just basically saying there’s a DLC or a new costume for Leon. But just to make sure, these are all fake news.”

Thus, the recent images were certainly created with the help of artificial intelligence. However, Masato Kumazawa does not specify if Leon will be present in Resident Evil Requiem, and it will be necessary to wait for official information from Capcom to get the answer to this question. 

Finally, he also spoke about the third-person camera that will be available in this game. And there's no doubt that this could make this game less scary for some players.
