On October 30, Capcom and Nintendo unveiled a new special edition Switch 2 Pro controller based on the upcoming title, Resident Evil Requiem. The controller is slated to launch on February 27 alongside the game, but interested buyers can preorder one today.
As revealed in a Road to Requiem video posted on YouTube, the Switch 2 Pro Controller Resident Evil Requiem Edition comes in the same gunmetal-black colorway as the standard model. However, the front faceplate now features newspaper clippings pulled straight from the game, showcasing the grim situation in Raccoon City. The words "Resident Evil" appear at the top, with "Requiem" just below, rounding off a design that perfectly fits the upcoming survival horror game.
Where to preorder the Resident Evil Requiem Edition Switch 2 Pro controller
The Resident Evil Requiem controller is now available to preorder directly from Nintendo and third-party retailers, including Amazon and Best Buy. It’s priced at $99.99, about $10 more than the standard model. The controller will ship on February 27, the same day the game launches.
Aside from the new paint job, this is the same Switch 2 Pro Controller under the hood. It still lacks Hall effect sticks and triggers, but makes up for it with features like remappable back buttons, gyro support, improved HD rumble, a comfortable design, and excellent battery life, according to hands-on reviews. It is also the only Switch 2 controller with built-in amiibo functionality.
