Sony has now released the God of War 20th Anniversary Limited Edition DualSense controller, following pre-orders that opened last month. The controller was first revealed during the September 24 State of Play livestream, marking 20 years since Kratos’ first outing on the PlayStation 2.
Buyers can purchase the controller through PlayStation Direct for $84.99, about $10 more than the standard DualSense. It is also available at Best Buy and Walmart. Sony says the controller will be offered in limited quantities, so once it sells out, that might be it.
As we previously reported, the God of War 20th Anniversary DualSense controller features a light gray colorway inspired by Kratos’ ash-covered skin, with his omega tattoo stretching across the right handle, face buttons, and triggers. It has extra red accents on the buttons and a "God of War 20th Anniversary" inscription on the back to round out the commemorative design. It is a rather simple redesign compared to other special edition Dualsense controllers like the Ghost of Yotei (curr: $84.99 at Amazon) and Astro Bot Joyful versions (curr: $84.99 at Amazon).
Aside from the Kratos-themed design, it’s still the same DualSense controller underneath. It supports haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for more immersive gameplay and includes familiar extras like a built-in microphone and touchpad. However, that also means it doesn’t have Hall effect or TMR joysticks, so like the standard model, it could still be prone to stick drift over time.
The DualSense Wireless Controller - God of War 20th Anniversary Limited Edition is now available through PlayStation Direct and partner stores like Best Buy.
